Steven Krieger, an attorney, builder and successful developer of commercial
properties and multi-family housing developments, has been involved in the
real estate industry since 1986. He has managed retail and office buildings
for private and institutional owners, including ABN-AMRO Bank. As co-founder
of The Engel Burman Group, Steven, along with Jan Burman, has spearheaded acquisitions and financing. Their accomplishments include the first attainment of an industrial development agency funding (IDA) for an assisted living community in the State of New York. Steven secured the land approvals and the municipal entitlements for all of The Bristal locations, the group’s flagship line of Assisted Living communities. He also has secured the entitlements for over 2,500 units for the group’s many residential ventures.
Steven is also adept at discovering commercial real estate opportunities, perceiving their potential and nurturing them into successful developments – concept to completion. His latest commercial accomplishment was the purchase and entitlements of a parcel located in Nassau County where he procured Stop and Shop as a tenant under a 20 year lease with an aggregate value in excess of $30 million.
Steven is a founder and executive board member of The Long Island Real Estate Group, and is also a president of Friends Assisting Nassau Seniors (FANS), a not-for-profit eldercare organization. Steven contributes his free time weekly in winter months to teaching special needs children to play basketball for the Shooting Stars Program. Steven graduated cum laude from Tulane University and studied abroad at the London School of Economics and Political Science where he played on the traveling basketball team. He completed his law degree at Benjamin N. Cardozo
School of Law. He was admitted to the New York State Bar in 1986.
